You have to be the one that gives input and ideas to your social media marketing strategy. No one knows your business or your objectives like you do. I would love to say, you should have started yesterday, but that is not the case. You must have a clear strategy and have answered all of the important who, why, what, and where questions, then and only then can you decide the when.

Who Will Do My Social Media Marketing?

Messages that you put on your social media site will reflect back on the business, and ultimately you. Marketing also requires time and effort. You must keep your content current, fresh and show a relationship to your business and your community in order to thrive.
Who will write the content that gets posted?
Who will schedule when it will be posted?

I am sure you are familiar with most of the social media sites, but here is a partial list

There are quite a few more, however, this gives you some insight on your choices.
All of my clients use Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Next is Google+ followed by a close Pinterest.
The others are used by a small percentage although YouTube is coming up in the ranks..
